NORTH FORK OF THE KENTUCKY RIVER MITIGATION BANK SITE

107,540 Linear Feet | Breathitt County, KY | Construction Completed in 2018

This project was the first Kentucky mitigation bank to include a stream designated as Outstanding State Resource Water due to the presence of the federally-threatened Kentucky arrow darter. It was specifically designed to replicate the ideal arrow darter habitat. During construction, surveys were performed to relocate arrow darter individuals away from the active construction. Following restoration, sampling has shown an increase in the arrow darter population on the site.
